This collection of video, digital lessons, digital textbooks offers the potential for any student to build their understanding of numeracy. Study Forge offers Alberta math and physics program of studies curriculum for students in grades 7-12. You are welcome to use and integrate any level into your current digital platform. Moodle is the platform from which to access this resource.

Content Connections Digital Math Resources:

WCLN – RVS Moodle Courses  (Under the “Explore” TAB in RVS Moodle)

In partnership with BCLN, RVS has uploaded full BC online courses which includes digital content, videos, activities and links for math, English, social studies and science curriculum grades 5 through 12. You can skim through, import or remix ANY of this content to support RVS learners.

You can find these resources by:

  • 1.Going to the Rocky view Schools Web page
  • 2. Click on the moodle tab at the top of the page
  • 3. Enter your RVS username and password
  • 4. Click on “Explore” to find your focus area

This collection of moodle courses includes a wide variety of courses that cover grades 5-12 in multiple course topics. This interactive textbook-like courses include videos, activities and projects. All of the WCLN moodle courses are free and open to all RVS teachers. RVS is currently looking for pilot teachers to use the content in their classrooms and create more inquiry focused or cross-curricular courses for use by other teachers throughout RVS.

Discovery Education

Discovery Education Streaming Plus is a K-12 cross-curricular, digital content library that consists of multi-modal digital content aligned to the Alberta curriculum.  Streaming Plus includes many different media types that help teachers personalize instruction for students, including: interactive maps, virtual labs, audio clips, animations, videos, articles, assessments and more. It also includes content from the Discovery Channel such as Myth Busters, Planet Earth, Racing Extinction and the resources and support provided by the Discovery Educator Community. Other learning opportunities include their augmented and virtual reality resources and virtual field trips.

Specific RVS schools have chosen to use Discovery Education digital content services for the 2017-18 school year. Please contact your Learning Commons Specialist to find out if your school is subscribed or Verena Roberts more more details.

Access Learning Videos:

Canada’s leading provider of educational media is proud to offer instant on-demand access to over 3,500 full length and 20,000 clip level educational video programs. This web based program has award winning content accessible 24 hours a day 7 seven days a week. Educators can search, stream and download content that has been correlated to provincial curriculum. Open Educational Resources (OER):
